Description Market Range: 08 Job Description The Infant Language and Perceptual Learning Lab at the University of Tennessee directed by Dr. Jessica Hay is looking for a highly organized and energetic person for a full-time position as a lab manager and support staff for the Department of Psychology’s Child Development Research Group.The lab conducts research on language acquisition, including language input and outcome measures in preterm and full-term infants, speech segmentation and word learning, as well as speech perception in infants and young children. Research duties will focus primarily on the coordination of a continuing NIH-funded longitudinal interdisciplinary study (Psychology and Nursing) examining language development in preterm and full-term infants. The Lab Manager will have the opportunity to work on all aspects of the research process, from design to dissemination. Research duties include but are not limited to managing research projects in the lab; creating stimuli; programming experiments; recruiting participants; testing infants and children, fostering continued engagement with longitudinal participants and their families, using behavioral and eye tracking methodologies; conducting literature searches; coding and analyzing data; assisting with manuscript editing and preparation; and preparing conference presentations. There is the possibility of becoming a co-author on manuscripts submitted for publication. Administrative duties include but are not limited to recruiting, hiring, and training undergraduate volunteers; coordinating with graduate students on lab projects; managing participant scheduling; community outreach; recruitment and database management in coordination with the other developmental labs in the department; purchasing equipment; hardware/software maintenance; managing human subject protocols; assisting with expense and grant management; maintaining lab website; coordinating lab events and meetings; and general faculty support. This is a limited duration position with the possibility of an extension. Preferred start date of August 1 st , 2024, or as soon as possible.
