The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) Vision Center, are actively seeking a full-time faculty member for the position of Associate Professor or Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology and Chief of Ophthalmology.
In this position, the successful candidate is expected to spend time in clinical education related to specialty areas and provide clinical service with cataracts, cornea, eye movement, glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, retina, retinoblastoma and other conditions. The remainder of the time will be in administration, teaching and research.
Each candidate must share and demonstrate a personal commitment to the values shared by CHLA and the Keck School of Medicine of USC, including respect, excellence, service, knowledge, and teamwork. Candidates must be board certified in Ophthalmology, and have strong clinical, research, and leadership/management experience in a children’s hospital and/or academic pediatric department affiliated with a university medical school, with a minimum of 10 years progressive experience, and an increasing scope of responsibility, including faculty and trainee mentoring and program development.
The Vision Center is one of the country’s leading and largest pediatric ophthalmology programs, and a preeminent referral center, attracting families from across the country and around the world. The Visions Center’s in-depth knowledge and experience allow us to manage and correct the most complex childhood eye conditions. The annual base salary range for this position is $331,566-$998,121 When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
