Position: Systems Administrator
Department: Information Technology
Salary: $6,212.63 - $7,862.80
Reports to: IT Director
Klamath County is seeking a qualified and motivated Systems Administrator to join our Information Technology Department. This position is responsible for maintaining and supporting core IT infrastructure including installation, repair, and optimization of hardware and software systems. You will work closely with county departments to ensure high system performance, resolve technical issues, and support daily operations.
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair computers, network systems, and related hardware.
Provide project support, end-user training, and vendor coordination.
Develop and document internal systems procedures.
Perform system backups, monitor for intrusions, and implement corrective actions.
Maintain user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
Deploy hardware and software, perform updates, and test new systems.
Monitor and manage systems using tools like SCCM, SolarWinds, and SCOM.
Provide on-call support and respond to system alerts 24/7 (must respond on-site within 15 minutes when on call).
Adhere to federal and state IT security regulations including CJIS, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and more.
Associate's degree in computer science or related field required, bachelor's preferred.
2+ years of enterprise-level Windows systems administration experience (4+ preferred).
Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms and shared storage systems.
MCSA certification required.
Advanced experience with PowerShell scripting strongly preferred.
Valid Oregon Driver’s License required.
Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, SQL, and SCCM.
Experience managing Office 365 environments and mobile device solutions.
Familiarity with network infrastructure (TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, SDN).
Proficiency in system monitoring and performance optimization tools.
Ability to communicate across organizational levels and work collaboratively in a team.
Exposure to Mac OS and Apple iOS systems is a plus.
Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.
Regularly required to sit, use hands, talk, and hear.
Occasionally required to walk, climb, balance, kneel, or crawl.
Visual abilities required: close vision, color vision, and focus adjustment.
