Job Title: Senior Information Technology Project Manager/Scrum Master (100% Remote)
We are excited to announce an incredible direct hire opportunity for a Senior Information Technology Project Manager/Scrum Master. In this role, you will help provide clients and public users with access to actionable data and insights, combining human-centered design with a robust understanding of data as a product. Your contributions will play a vital role in delivering value to our users by expanding several critical functions, including:
- Data Visualization Engineering: Develop data visualization tools, contribute to common data visualization libraries, and create bespoke visualizations that enhance user understanding.
- Data Engineering: Build data pipelines to ingest data from various programs, transform it into visualization-ready assets, and publish it on platforms such as data.cdc.gov and CDC WONDER.
- Product Management: Organize resources, plan implementations, and track progress for public-facing data channel projects.
- Design: Conduct user research and apply user experience design, interaction design, and information architecture principles to a portfolio of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage your expertise to coach a development team, ensuring focus on sprint goals and successful project progression.
- Apply scrum principles to address routine challenges and enhance team performance.
- Utilize Agile tools to implement sustainable process improvements that support prioritized outcomes for project increments within scheduled capacities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master and/or Product Manager for Agile teams.
- Proficiency with Agile software project management tools, such as JIRA.
- Experience facilitating daily stand-up calls, backlog grooming, sprint planning, retrospectives, road mapping, and requirements sessions.
- Solid knowledge of project management frameworks and software development processes.
- Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
- Certifications: SAFe Practitioner or SAFe Agilist, and Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, engineers, and managers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active CDC badge is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience supporting public health projects.
- Experience as a Business Analyst.
- Proven ability to coach a team toward improved outcomes through process improvement.
