Position Overview:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Senior Information Technology Project Manager/Scrum Master for an exciting direct hire opportunity. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our clients and public users have access to actionable data and insightful content. By blending human-centered design and engineering with a solid understanding of data as a product, you will help us share scientific knowledge quickly and effectively. Your efforts will support various critical functions, enhancing our ability to deliver value to all users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coach and mentor a development team, guiding them to focus on sprint goals and ensuring successful project progression.
- Utilize Agile principles to tackle routine challenges and foster team collaboration.
- Leverage Agile tools to implement sustainable process improvements, enabling your team to achieve prioritized outcomes within scheduled timelines.
- Oversee data visualization engineering, contributing to data visualization libraries and crafting tailored visualizations.
- Build data pipelines to ingest and transform data into visualization-ready assets, publishing them on platforms like data.cdc.gov and CDC WONDER.
- Manage resources, plan for implementation, and track progress for public-facing data channel projects.
- Conduct user research, user experience design, interaction design, and information architecture for a portfolio of projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master and/or Product Manager for Agile teams.
- Proficiency in Agile software project management tools, including JIRA.
- Experience facilitating daily stand-up meetings, backlog grooming, sprint planning, retrospectives, road mapping, and requirements sessions.
- Strong understanding of project management frameworks and software development processes.
- Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal direction.
- Certified SAFe Practitioner or SAFe Agilist Certification and Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for successful interactions with clients, engineers, and managers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
- Active CDC badge preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience supporting public health projects.
- Background as a Business Analyst.
- Proven ability to coach teams toward better outcomes through process improvement.
