Position Overview:

As an Inventory Manager at A Green Alternative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and efficient management of our dispensary's inventory. Collaborating closely with the Buyer, you will oversee the organization and tracking of all inventory items. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain optimal inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and support the seamless flow of products from fulfillment to the sales floor.

Job Responsibilities include but not limited to:

1. Inventory Management

  • Implement and maintain an effective inventory management system to track all products accurately.
  • Regularly review inventory levels, sales data, and market trends to identify demand patterns and optimize stocking strategies.
  • Coordinate with the Buyer to ensure timely and accurate procurement of inventory items based on sales forecasts and inventory needs.
  • Monitor and analyze product expiration dates, ensuring proper rotation and minimizing waste.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and implement corrective actions.

2. Inventory Reporting and Analysis:

  • Generate regular reports on inventory performance, including stock levels, turnover rates, and product movement.
  • Conduct analysis of sales data, inventory metrics, and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to optimize inventory management processes, pricing, and assortment decisions.

3. Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate effectively with the team to ensure smooth inventory operations and support business objectives.
  • Provide guidance to dispensary staff on inventory procedures, proper handling, and storage of products.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, open communication, and accountability within the inventory management team.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proven experience as an Inventory Manager or similar role, preferably within the cannabis industry or a regulated retail environment.
  • Solid understanding of inventory management principles, including forecasting, procurement, stock control, and inventory valuation.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software or point-of-sale systems (e.g., Blaze) is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy to ensure inventory records are up to date and reliable.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams.
  • Understanding of cannabis products, industry regulations, and METRC compliance.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
