Human Resources Specialist (USA) Location Lebanon, KY :
REPORTING TO: HR DIRECTOR - HEAD OFFICE
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
Recruitment
- Manages and coordinates all stages of the employee recruitment, selection and orientation process by:
- assisting managers and supervisors in their efforts to meet business needs;
- Plans, organizes and attends recruitment fairs as requested;
- Works with community organizations, schools and other groups to generate a pipeline of candidates;
- Screen resumes, conducts telephone and face to face interviews with the help of the Training coordinator or Manager;
- Ensures the compatibility of applicants to job positions;
- Conduct reference verifications and background checks as required and prepare employment letters;
- Writes, revises and keeps s current;
- Ensures that all steps of the hiring process are completed; Employee Relation
- Establish and maintain supportive relationships with employees, supervisors and managers;
- Administers discipline and employee counseling when required;
- Ensures effective exit interviews are conducted and provides management with analysis and
recommendations;
- Advises and supports managers on company policies regarding equal opportunity employment, various
forms of harassment, and any recommended changes;
- Conducts preliminary investigations of complaints brought forward by employees and management;
General
- Manages the day to day functions of the Human Resources at the plant level, including recruitment, training
workers comp, benefits administration, payroll information, attendance, discipline and employee relations;
- Ensure that employees and supervisors receive timely answers to Human Resources inquiries;
- Monitors attendance and absenteeism;
- Assists the Human Resources Manager with a variety of issues, re: legislative, special assignment, etc.
- Administers benefits, performance management programs, retirement procedures and compensation;
- Supports the managers with the performance evaluations for all employees;
- Advises and assists Managers, Team Leaders and Supervisors on interpretation and administration of
personnel policies, programs and company directives;
- Maintains accurate records and compile statistical reports relating to personnel data, e.g. hires, transfers,
absenteeism rates, and performance appraisals, etc.;
- Educates both current and prospective employees on company policies regarding job duties, working
conditions, safety, wages, career advancement opportunities and employee benefits;
- Develops and provides recommendations for policies and processes;
- Provides general information and assistance internally and externally over the phone, electronically and in
person;
- Works as a team with the HR manager and Supports the employees and management during their
absence(s);
- Provides input and support the VP Finance & Corporate Services in the general operations of the Human
Resources department;
- Completes other duties and projects as assigned;
Projects
- Assists on different Human Resources projects such as software implementations, new policy development,
compensation reviews, employee engagement initiatives, etc.;
- Participates in the elaboration of a new Employee Reward Program;
- Keeps up to date with latest Human Resources trends and best practices;

QUALIFICATIONS (education & experience)
- Experience in Manufacturing environment;
- Experience managing benefits in the US;
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field of study;
- 3 to 5 years minimum of experience as a Human Resources Specialist;
- Experience with human resources modules of Ceridian DayForce, an asset;
