Job Description

At Amplified, design is a way of thinking. We are a multidisciplinary team of strategists, designers, artists, ethnographers, psychologists and technologists united by a passion for creating great experiences. We believe we cannot design experiences that others love if we don't love making them.

Experience designers at Amplified envision and create the visible framework of the product or service experience. They are passionate about using their craft to transform the way people live and engage with the world. A human-centered approach to problem-solving informs their work but they are not afraid to trust a vision and intuition to drive design. They are quick to reconcile business requirements with user needs today but are just as mindful about what tomorrow might bring. Creative exploration, constrained or not, comes naturally to them and their designs always have a purpose.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with business and strategy teams to gather and distill product, service and user requirements
  • Work with the research team to uncover insights around user needs, and synthesize takeaways using role models, personas, task analysis, conceptual modeling etc
  • Design and specify the digital experience through an iterative and human-centered design process
  • Generate concepts that capture the essence of the digital product/service experience through journey maps, storyboards, screenplays, service blueprints, interaction flows and wireframes
  • Collaborate with different types of designers including industrial, architectural, service and visual designers to create a holistic experience for the end user
  • Create physical and/or digital prototypes of the product to communicate design to stakeholders and for user evaluations
  • Work with technology teams to ensure that the design intent is represented in production and be the gatekeeper for quality

Job Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of UX design experience
  • Able to articulate and communicate the ideas and rationale behind your design concepts and decisions
  • Passionate about creativity and design
  • Willing to push the boundaries of solutions and take risks
  • Able to appreciate and comfortably navigate ambiguity
  • Have a positive “can-do” attitude
  • An eye for detail
  • Willing to experiment
  • Kind and collaborative
  • Have strong people and project management skills
  • Convinced being a designer is not a job, but who you are
  • Experience in industrial and environmental design a plus
