Job Description and Duties

This position is eligible for telework up to 3 days a week, in accordance with DGS’s Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office a minimum of 2 days a week. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Under general direction of the Information Technology (IT) Manager II Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), the IT Manager I in the Department of General Services, Enterprise Technology Solutions (ETS), within the Information Security Engineering domain, the Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (Deputy CISO) acts as a key leadership position within the organization's Information Security Section. Working closely with the Deputy CISO is responsible for assisting the DGS CISO in the development, implementation, and management of the organization's information security program. The Deputy CISO plays a critical role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the organization's information assets, as well as in establishing and maintaining a strong security posture.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and once per year.
