Job Description

Destination Madison is seeking a part-time Airport Visitor Services Representative to help represent the Madison area by providing exceptional customer service to visitors at Dane County Regional Airport. The Airport Visitor Services Representative will inspire visitors to enjoy their stay in the Madison region by sharing knowledge of various attractions, events, and services available throughout Dane County. The successful candidate will bring strong organizational skills and the ability to engage visitors as a positive representative of our city and the organization’s brand. This position is expected to work approximately 4-8 hours per week with one 4-hour Sunday shift per month. The desk is typically staffed from 10:00am-6:00pm most weekdays and 11:00am – 3:00pm on Sundays.

Overview of Responsibilities

• Actively engage with and assist visitors seeking information about their visit to the Madison area, using the Destination Madison website and other online resources as necessary
• Serve as the first point of contact to travelers requiring assistance with airport services or ground transportation
• Obtain, track, and enter visitor inquiry data
• Provide project support and administrative assistance as assigned
• Participate in Visitor Services staff meetings and educational opportunities
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Destination Madison partners, literature, and websites

Desired Education, Skills & Abilities

• High school diploma or GED plus one year of customer service experience
• Familiarity with Madison area attractions, amenities and major events
• Proficient with internet browsers, Microsoft Office Suite - Outlook and Word, tablets
• Basic computer troubleshooting skills
• Self-motivated with an engaging and friendly personality 

Work Environment & Job Specifications

• Primarily perform work at the visitor information desk at the Dane County Regional Airport
• Work with frequent interruption and sit or stand for long periods of time. Lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 35 pounds
• Availability to work at conventions and events
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays

Compensation The pay for this position is $15.75 per hour.
